“I came to see your show in Cambridge last Wednesday with my son (aged 10). I just wanted to let you know that I thought it was superb, and my son and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I home educate him, and although we have studied the Tudors you brought Henry to life, and covered the material in such an interesting and imaginative way.”

“Perfect for classes studying the Tudors - funny and absolutely spot on for the age range - this show ticks all the right boxes”

“The show was informative, highly educational but in a light hearted way. My children really enjoyed looking at the puppets after the show and didn’t really realise they were learning”!

Thanks for The Henry VIII Show it went down a  storm. It’s astonishing how much information you give out in the show and yet still keep it entertaining.

If history lessons had been like this, I’d have learnt a bit more when I was at school. Having grabbed our attention and got us chuckling, On the Other Hand keep us hooked – sometimes through laughter but sometimes by stirring other emotions. There are tender moments, there are scary moments, there are very sad moments. Henry’s line of Queens, Cardinal Wolsey and the unfortunate Cromwell are depicted by rather beautiful table-top puppets

“I took my 7 year old daughter and two of her friends to your show. We all thought it was absolutely amazing. Your mix of puppetry, acting, pathos and humour brought everything to life so vividly. I would say that it was a must for any child studying the Tudors - and a must for any child that isn’t. Thank you especially for expanding the subject out to cover Henry VII, Edward VI, Mary
and Elizabeth. Once again many, many thanks for a truly memorable Afternoon”

“All 150 of our Year 5 children took so much from this performance, it was presented in such a way that all were captivated for the entire event. Educational, humorous, appropriately pitched and very enjoyable. We will be re-booking this show for every year that we teach the Tudor topic. This show is highly recommended, you will not be disappointed in any way!”

“Just a quick e-mail to say thank you for a fantastic day last week. All of the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves (as did the teachers).
We would also like to pass on the thanks of our Head for being so cooperative during the day.
Please keep us updated with any future productions.”

'We cannot recommend the On the Other Hand Puppet Company strongly enough!  They have now played the Great Hall twice - both times transfixing an audience that ranged from 8 - 80.  There is an audible gasp as 'Henry VIII' steps out from behind the curtains - it's almost as though the image has hopped down from the Round Table and has become flesh and blood!!  - and the story of Henry VIII & his six wives is really brought to life.  This show is both educational and immensely enjoyable - we love them!!
